Kidding around...

...yup! I had to mind the Grand Boy, the youngest today.
It was a pile of fun.
He's a gorgeous wee bubba. Crawling
and smiling and sleeping.
We even went for a walk with the dog up
to the post office.
On the way we found some fungi.
This is a built up urban area with a 4 lane highway.
They really will grow anywhere!! Wish I knew more about what
is edible and not!
We saw this way pretty and nice smelling rose bush:
It really was a great day!
I also made a few Christmas cards!
Had an easy lunch;)
Here's some I made:
These are all using 'bits' I've been gifted.... I pop them all into a pizza box, then
I can simply grab some & pop them together!
The one below is my fave. I think it's the wooden tag....
I was also blessed to be gifted some Happy Mail from my scrappy mate
in the UK, Katie P.....she wrapped her gift in some GORGEOUS Peter
Rabbit tissue paper, on the left of the photo below:
[I ADORE her bright shiny pink mail packets, too!!]
ANYWAYS, it took me less than a day to use up that paper!!!
I'm making an 8x8 album for Ashton, for each month of his 1st year.
I did the same for both Lucas & Ollie.
Here's that paper:
The photo is from my phone, so not the best. But you get the idea.
More script writing with my fountain pen, too :)
On Thursday Tom has his 2nd cataract operation.
Hopefully, after the 3 follow-up appointments,
that will be THAT!
I'm sure it will go OK, but it IS nice to get it done & dusted:)
Oh! And just for Val Belle....the perm & trim...
I sorta still do a bit of hairdressing, keep my hand in...
so I was off doing an ex-neighbour's hair.
Not getting mine done! That rarely happens.
In fact, I attacked the fringe a few weeks ago. Hacked it.
Just growing out now. EEEP!!!
Here it is with Ollie & I on the train;)
We go 10 min's down the road to the next station & back.
He loves it & so do I!!!
It's a good Friday minding-day activity.

must be off ~ Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

A Creative Sorta Week...

... not at the start. Unless you count hair trims and perming as creative!
Once I'd got those outta the way, I had TWO days in my craft room. Yay!
I was fortunate to get a LOVELY pocket letter
from a private swap with JANE TAYLOR.
She is a fabulous CAS scrapper that I got to know when
we were both involved in LET'S DECEMBER DAILY.
And I got some goodies too! How lucky am I?
Soooo, Jane is a member of the UNIKO stamp team, I think.
I’m pretty sure these mandalas are a stamp of theirs. Could be wrong.
Anyways, this is what I did with the first one:
I made it into a card. AND GO ME---- note I used a tassel!
The colouring took ages, but I really enjoyed it! I Think the next one will be blues
& greens, maybe!
I had a pile of other ‘bits’ that I wanted to upcycle /re-use as well. So here’s what I’ve done:
The Project Life 3x4 card I've used on this is from TANYA LEIGH DESIGNZ in NZ.
I really like this set, which has some wonderful, heartfelt sentiments.
I can't take credit for the rest of the card which was part of some happy mail
I received last year from a scrappy mate! I do like to upcycle, though, especially with
such LOVELY bits:) Similarly, I've used more of hers in this card:
The sparkly bits were gifted to me by JO TRITTON. I'm slowly using them.
They're sooo pretty!!  Behind the vellum I've sort of created a shaker packet.
Originally it was an open pocket!
Added the flowers & some washi, too :)
Way happy about those little projects being done & dusted...

NOT ALL THOSE WHO WANDER ARE LOST:
I think this is a new fave. Firstly, cos it’s such a LOVELY photo
of my Grand Girl.
Adore that bg paper from COCOA VANILLA STUDIOS too!
Secondly cos I script wrote with NO
ghosting or pencilling in. Just went for it,
with my fountain pen.
I know that won’t surprise most of you! I tend to just get stuck in,
with my scrapping. And of course, these colours are my favest!!!
This is a photo I pinched from Instagram, so I've covered up the little bits down
the bottom!
There are actually quite a lot of layers behind the photo. Including vellum & tissue.
But I've kept them just peeking out. I am liking this idea atm!
Up top I've done another cluster. I am really enjoying adding sequins atm, too!!!
I have done sooooo many more pages in the last 3 months.
Around 15 per month. So I am SLOWLY making my way through the
never ending pile of photos! Not that I ever anticipate reaching the bottom.
Do you?
Hahaaaaaaa……bet it’s a resounding ‘no’ to that!
Almost the weekend if you’re in Aussie.
I’ve got the middle Grand Boy tomorrow, then doing swapsies
and looking after the eldest over night….
so it will be a busy but fun start to the weekend here!
Whatever you do, wherever you are, enjoy every minute of it….
You just never know what’s around the corner.
Like the London attack with that car. Not nice.
But it DOES remind you to grab hold of life and live it with both hands :)
Blessings ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Back to Normal. Whatever that is!

G'day from a Very Wet Week here.
That would not be as bad as the snow I hear some of y'all
are getting in the USA. Boo! To that;)
Still, personally, I prefer wet to hot any day.
This was the view from our front window. It DOES look like a painting, eh??!!
ANYWAYS.
Scrapping.
I'd done the bg ages ago.... didn't take much to add a few layers.
I'm pretty pleased at managing to pop BOTH colour and a Black & White
photo on the same page;)
I thought I'd write the family's names ON the photo. That made it easier!
Just felt like creating a cluster for no other reason than I could.
That is washi tape underneath, saying 'make today amazing',
from Happy Mail. ADORE it - no idea
 what sort it is!
Ripped a few edges & used my fountain pen for the minimal journaling...
I've been hitting my stride. Went to scrap with Mum & her
GF who was down visiting from QLD for the week.
Took 4 LOs to do. And did 'em.
But I'll only show you two here:)
I am not fantastic at using frames, but thought I'd give it a shot here!
Having fun using tiny bits of layers showing underneath the photos...
The little sayings in the frames come from an Amy Tangerine 6x6 pad, I think....
they worked, so I went with them!
And I am seriously IN LOVE with those COPPER alphas.... mwah!!!!

Then I 'cleared my table'. Do you do that at times?
I find I have Piles that accumulate 'cos I don't want to put the bits
away, otherwise I'll forget about them. I had this pile
of Paris stuff. Some vintage, some serviettes [too nice to wipe
my face on!!!]...you get the picture.

This is what I did:
1 Pulled the layers off the serviette  - leaving JUST the image layer.
2 Using my glue stick, stuck this layer on some white card. Smoothed it out,
then trimmed the edges so it was 'square'.
3 Got out the Distress ink & sponged over it cos all the other embellies
were 'vintage' & the white bg looked 'wrong':
Then I added some Distress ink to the edges:
Yes, this is a different card; made two!
4 Added embellies. The bottom one was cut in 1/2 so it could be
used on both cards!
Made them 'same-same' but different...
The butterfly is a die cut & the hexagon banner is packaging...
And I didn't mind using slightly rusted flair. I think it fitted the cards...
Please note use of BRADS!!!

THEN I had a pile of hearts I'd cut out of a Kleenex tissue box,
& some other bits....so I made these little embellies:
Had a BALL. Mostly, these will be for Happy Mail.
It's good to use one's punches ;)
And there y'go. That's what I've been up to!
I'm very happy to be feeling better and more up for some scrapping, I must say!
Here's to a happy weekend, wherever you, and regardless of the weather:)
Take care & happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Memorandum Monday with Mail!

Hi folks!
Well, it's Monday here & I thought I'd join in with Sian
because this week I got some VERY nice Happy Mail
from Kathleen Wilson:
Isn't she CUUUUTE?
And inside:
That little coffee paper clip GRABBED my heart:)

And I sent some away myself, that arrived in far flung Holland:
Wrapped in a dress-making pattern, LOL!!!
I do enjoy clustering up elements for Happy Mail!
This is the decoration on the back of an envelope
that I made.

So it's been a good week here. Especially since I'm FINALLY
feeling better. Mum is getting around much more easily with
her new hip, too. We're on the up & up;)

Next is a layout about our home. More multi photos ~ trying to get through them!
Tissue paper, then washi tape, then a printed strip from the pp, along the bottom below:
I've used some chippy - painted white & also done a little stenciling on the
background with coloured texture paste:
Also got a few more alphas used up on this page!!!
More chippy & lots of enamel dots:
 Et voila!!!!
Thanks for coming on by ~ Happy Scrapping to y'all :)

SSSSHHHH!

.... a BIG shhhh! Please don't tell on me, but somehow, today, without
actually MEANING to, I ended up doing a challenge LO.
For KRAFT PLUS, my old DT. See, I pop on over & check out
what's going on each month.....
So I knew it was DENIM this month:
And I was actually thinking how GLAD I wasn't on the DT
to do this one!
But trotting back from the shop this morning [slight exaggeration -
I'm better but not that well!] with some more tissues,
this is what I discovered on getting home.
And nope, didn't notice at the shops!
Believe me, I used every little skerrick of 'denim' that I could!
Fussy cut out the pockets. Obv had to cover up the Kleenex bit.
Also did some stitching & used some staples. The rest of the packaging
got punched into hearts & stars.
Here's my whole page. I've used some Distress ink blue for the splats
in the bg. Thanks Lizzy C for those stamps, from ages ago!
Slightly mixed media-ish. I'm really trying to use up photos.
I've too many to scrap singly.
Finding ways of making multi LOs work is a REAL challenge:)

A lot of the bits on this page come from my KITAHOLIC kit. I do ADORE them!
The love arrow above, & the sweet tab are part of the 'exclusive' cut files.
My journaling. I really love the 'circle of life' thing, with my Grand Boys using MY
sons' toys.... below is the title. I've coloured the wood with Distress ink,
then used my Wink of Stella pen for some sparkle:
Last close up - some cute tiny word stickers & more 'denim' with the heart below:
So, linking up over at KRAFT PLUS, which always have highly imaginative
challenges :)
On the home front, apart from Tom coughing pretty much non stop, everything else
is getting back to normal. FINALLY. And hooray for that!
Happy scrapping folks ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
